Founder, Mental Performance Consultant
M.A., Sport and Performance Psychology
B.S., Health and Exercise Science
Born and raised in Colorado, I was lucky to have access to a wide range of sports growing up. From horseback riding to soccer, basketball, and softball, I eventually found my place in mountain sports. Competing in climbing at the collegiate level, I became intrigued with motor learning, motivation, and how we work with fear. This led me to pursue my M.A. in sport and performance psychology at the University of Denver
As a mountain athlete myself, I understand the unique psychological demands that come with adventure sports. My experiences in competition and outdoor rock climbing, freeride snowboarding, rafting, and trekking provide firsthand insight into the fear, uncertainty, pressure, and risk that athletes face. These insights have allowed me to bring in new perspectives when working with a variety of athletes. I have worked with high school volleyball, youth soccer, collegiate lacrosse, and have over 5 years of youth coaching experience.
I believe that growth happens when people are challenged, supported, and given the freedom to play. I created Action Potential so that every individual has the opportunity to discover their strengths, develop confidence and resilience, and grow a deeper understanding of self.
Manchego
You may see Manchego pop in on sessions. He reminds us to live in the moment, turn off our screens, and enjoy the nature outside. Although short in stature, his self-belief that he can accomplish anything makes him a notable member of Action Potential.
